SV Wevelgem City is a Belgian football club from Wevelgem. The club is affiliated with the KBVB with registration number 2997 and has purple and white as colors. Wevelgem City plays in the provincial series, but also played in the national series for almost two decades.
In Derde Provinciale Wevelgem was among the better, after two seasons they won the final of the final round against RFC Luingne on May 28, 2011, which promoted to Tweede Provinciale. There, too, they continued to achieve good results and in the first season they were already second, after champion Eendracht Wervik. They also reached the final round here, but lost to FC Helkijn. In 2013 they finally won the title in the Second Provincial, so they returned to the First Provincial. Wevelgem finished in the first season in the Eerste Provinciale in a relegation place, but still managed to save itself due to the mandatory relegation of Royal Olympic Club de Charleroi. However, it turned out to be postponed: the following season Wevelgem again ended in a relegation place. Since then, the club plays in Second Provincial.
In 2016, the club obtained the 4-star label from the independent audit organization Foot PASS and was awarded the label for best interprovincial youth work in Flanders. To give the youth every chance, a second team was started that currently plays in the third provincial. This team consists only of youth players and serves as a training team for the A-team.
In January 2018, Henk Louf announced that after 11 years it was time for rejuvenation. From the 2019-2020 season, Vincent Mispelaere became chairman and Wouter Verrote vice-chairman. Both were already active in the youth board. The outgoing chairman Henk Louf received a nice farewell gift with the championship title in 2nd Provincial.
