Robey football shirt Sparta Rotterdam tribute Chapecoense 2016

A wonderful gesture from the entire Sparta selection by wearing this specially designed shirt for the game in memory of the deceased footballers of Brazilian soccer team Chapecoense. This shirt was worn by defender Rick van Drongelen, now playing for HSV in Germany.

LaMia Airlines flight 2933 with the first Chapecoense team on board crashed on November 28, 2016 en route to a race in Colombia. Of the 77 occupants, 71 were killed, including 19 of the 22 players. On November 30, 2016, the first round in the final of the Copa Sudamericana would be played against Atlético Nacional in Medellín. Atletico indicated that they no longer wanted to play in the final and that Chapecoense was awarded the cup. In addition, the other clubs in the competition offered to let their players to the club and made a proposal to protect Chapecoense from degradation for the next three years. In 2017 the club again became state champion.
