Sport Lisboa e Benfica, or Benfica for short, is a Portuguese football club from Lisbon. 'Benfica' is a neighborhood in Lisbon. SL Benfica was founded in 1904 as Sport Lisboa, but was renamed in 1908 after a merger with Sport Club de Benfica.
