Simon Thorup Kjær(born 26 March 1989) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a central defender. He is currently a free agent.

Kjær was named Danish Talent of the Year under 19 in 2007 and Danish Talent of the Year in 2009. He has made more than 130 appearances for Denmark, including appearances in the FIFA World Cup in 2010, 2018 and 2022, and the UEFA European Championship in 2012, 2020 and 2024.

Due to Fenerbahçe's ban from playing European football next season, this led to Kjær wanting to leave the club. On 2 August 2017, Kjær joined Spanish side Sevilla, signing a four-year contract for a transfer fee of €12,500,000.
