Original Jako signed football shirt SC Heerenveen 2009/10

Heerenveen will play in the Eredivisie again this season. The club will also compete in the KNVB Cup, the Johan Cruijff Shield and the UEFA Europa League. The team was coached by Trond Sollied at the beginning of this year, who made Heerenveen the champion of the cup last season. After Heerenveen's disappointing results in the first five rounds, the Norwegian coach resigned. Assistant coach Chris Van Puyvelde also left the club. Head of training Jan de Jonge temporarily took over the coach's duties. On 3 February 2010, he also resigned after the 3-1 defeat against VVV-Venlo. The season was completed with Jan Everse as head coach.

From this season onwards, there was also a partnership with FC Emmen, to which approximately six youth players were loaned. The youth training will also be merged.
