Santiago Cazorla González(born 13 December 1984) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Segunda División club Oviedo. Cazorla, a former Spanish international, mainly operates as an attacking midfielder, but also plays as a winger, central midfielder or as a deep-lying playmaker.
After the 2011–12 season, combined with Málaga's perilous financial situation, Cazorla moved to Premier League club Arsenal for a fee of £10 million, where he became an important part of the team in his first year at the club, providing thirteen assists, after which he was voted Arsenal Player of the Season and ranked as one of the best footballers in Europe. Cazorla was instrumental in ending the club's nine-year trophy drought, scoring a crucial free-kick en route to winning the FA Cup final in 2014. Injuries plagued his final years at Arsenal. In 2018, Cazorla returned to Villarreal; in his two seasons there, he recorded his highest number of appearances, league goals and assists since 2015. In 2020, he signed for Qatari club Al Sadd before returning to his boyhood club Oviedo in 2023.
