The Netherlands is one of the participating countries in the 2008 European Football Championship in Switzerland and Austria. It was the eighth participation for the country. At the previous European Championship in Portugal (in 2004), the Netherlands was eliminated in the semi-finals by the organizing country. In the 2008 European Championship, the finish line was reached in the quarter-final against Guus Hiddink's Russia (3 - 1 for Russia) and the Dutch team could go home.
