Danny Post(Amsterdam, April 7, 1989) is a Dutch footballer who can be deployed as a defensive midfielder or central defender.
Post started his professional career at HFC Haarlem. There he made his competitive debut on October 17, 2008, as a substitute for Giel Neervoort, during a home match against Excelsior (2-1 win). The following season he was signed by FC Groningen for two years, where he received little playing time. In 2011, the midfielder switched to FC Dordrecht.
In July 2013, Post was taken over by VVV from the Dordrecht club, where he had a continuous contract. The midfielder signed a three-year agreement in Venlo. As of the 2014/15 season, he became captain of the Venlo first division team. In 2016 he extended his contract for another three years. As captain, Post was one of the main pillars of the VVV team that became First Division champions in 2017. On August 11, 2018, the midfielder scored the first Eredivisie goal in his career in an away match at Willem II (0-1). More than a month later he extended his contract with VVV, again for three years. Post played his 200th competition match on behalf of the Venlo club on December 5, 2020. After the relegation from the Eredivisie in 2021, Post announced his intention to leave after eight seasons at VVV and showed, among other things, the promoted N.E.C. interest in him. In August 2021, the captain reconsidered his intention and announced that he would stay in Venlo. After the winter break of the 2021/22 season, Post had to give up his captaincy to Brian Koglin. After 8.5 years, Post exchanged VVV for Almere City at the end of January 2022.
