The Asser Christian Football Association, better known as ACV, is a Dutch amateur football club from Assen in the province of Drenthe. The club was founded in 1939 and has blue-black colors. It plays its home games at the Het Stadsbroek sports park, called Sportpark ICT Specialist for sponsorship reasons, formerly Catawiki-Sportpark and Univé-Sportpark.
The standard team will play in the Second Division in the 2023/24 season. The club has always played on Saturdays and signed the agreement drawn up between the KNVB and the Saturday Football Interest Association (BZV) to guarantee that matches can be played on Saturdays.
At the highest amateur level, ACV won the overall amateur title twice, in 1978 and 1986. Opponents in the final were VV Hoogeveen and TOP respectively. The Dutch championship for Saturday amateurs was won three times and the department championship nine times.
The first team played in the highest division of amateur football since 1971 up to and including the 2009/10 season, with the exception of the seasons 1974/75-1975/76 and 2008/09. The club missed the step to the new Top Class in the following season, which meant that the club had been active at the second highest amateur level, the Hoofdklasse, since the 2010/11 season. In the 2016/17 season, the club became champions in the Saturday Hoofdklasse B and was promoted to the Third Division. Direct relegation immediately followed in the 2017/18 season. After two seasons in the Premier League, ACV was allocated a place in the Third Division for the 2020/21 season. Two seasons later, the 3rd Division championship was won and the club was promoted to the Second Division, where it immediately competed in the sub-top.
