On August 11, it was announced that Douglas had signed a contract with FC Würzburger Kickers playing in the 2. Bundesliga for the 2020/2021 season. The team had recently been promoted from the 3. Liga and was therefore looking for defensive reinforcements. With his club he lost the final for the Bayerischer Toto-Pokal of 1860 Munich in September 2020. After the relegation from the 2. Bundesliga in mid-2021, he left the club.
