Javier Matías Pastore(Córdoba, June 20, 1989) is an Argentine footballer with also an Italian passport who usually plays as a striker. He exchanged Paris Saint-Germain in July 2018 for AS Roma, which paid €24.7 million for him. Pastore made his debut in 2009 in the Argentina national football team.
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini announced on Saturday 30 July 2011 that Pastore had been sold to Paris Saint-Germain for 43 million euros. In 2011, that became the property of Qatar Sports Investments, which wanted to bring the club back to the top of French football. Kevin Gameiro and Jérémy Ménez, among others, were previously attracted. In the years that followed, Paris Saint-Germain bought a team for hundreds of millions of euros, including Thiago Motta, Thiago Silva, Marco Verratti, Lucas Moura, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani. Together with them, Pastore dominated the French league in the following seasons, with consecutive league and Super Cups and victories in both French Cups. Also, 'PSG' started to become a factor in the UEFA Champions League, with Pastore and his teammates reaching the quarter-finals three consecutive times in 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15.
