Our association was founded at a meeting on March 22, 1931. Actually, the club would have had the name YMER when it was founded, but the Swedish Sports Federation did not accept this name because there was already a club in Borås with that name. Therefore, after several discussions, the name became Nättraby GoIF.
Sergeant Ernst Jonsson was elected president of the club's first board.
Other board members were hairdresser Georg Eriksson, primary school teacher Oskar Åkesson, clerk Harry Gustavsson, Mr. Stig Lundström and Miss Greta Olsson.
Nättraby IP was completed in the spring of 1932, built by Viktor Borg at a cost of just under SEK 800.
The first sports were football, athletics and gymnastics. It can be mentioned that in 1933 a special section for women's sports was chosen.
In the 1930s and 1940s a number of other sports were tried, such as orienteering and boxing, and in the 1930s the Nättraby Runt competition was a popular relay race.
In the 1950s there was both bandy and ice hockey and it was mainly bandy that was popular for a number of years.
In the 1960s, Nättraby IP was rebuilt and at the same time made into a plan measuring 100 x 60 m, so the clubhouse was started and completed. Gymnastics got a boost in the early 60's when the gym was built.
In the 1970s, the association was developed under the leadership of NO Johannesson. NO was chairman for 11 years. Women's football started in 1971 and developed gradually in the 1970s and in 1978 we were in the second highest division for a year. After some good years in div 3 in the early 80's the girls dropped back to accelerate again in the early 90's with series win in div 2 1999 and matches in div 1 in 2000 and 2015 as top, now the ladies are playing in div 2.
In the men's category, Nättraby moved up 4th in 1978. A few years later it dropped out and then moved up in 1983 and stayed until 2000. The best place during this time was 2nd place.
In the first half of the 1970s the gymnasium was built and Nättraby's Gymnastics became very lively with many beautiful youth teams and a wide gym. During this period, Nättrabygymnasterna was the winner in many DM competitions.
Nättraby IP got a nice gravel floor in the early 1970s along with an electrically lit practice loop.
In the 1980s, our 7-man field was added and in the early 1990s the competition field was expanded to the dimensions 107x63.5 m.
In the 1990s we built a large training ground in the field between Luddwes and Nättraby IP.
In 2004 we extended the clubhouse and realized the new changing rooms.
In conclusion, it can be mentioned that Nättraby GoIF is one of the largest associations in the municipality of Karlskrona in terms of the number of activities per year, and that the association currently has about 500 members.
