The 2013/14 season of FC Schalke 04 was the 110th year in German professional football for the club from Gelsenkirchen. The club played in Germany and took part in the DFB-Pokal tournament. Internationally, Schalke was one of the participants in the UEFA Champions League.
Trainer-coach Jens Keller was sidelined throughout the season after the contract extension at the end of the previous season. In October 2014 he would be fired and succeeded by the Italian Roberto Di Matteo. Under Keller's management, Schalke won 19 out of 34 league games to finish in third place, securing a place in the following season's Champions League.
In the cup tournament, the club lost in the third round to later quarter-finalist TSG 1899 Hoffenheim: 1–3. Before halftime, Schalke was already three goals behind; only Jefferson Farfán scored a goal for the home team in the 67th minute.
Top scorer of the season was attacker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar with twelve goals in 34 league matches.
