Frosinone Calcio is an Italian football club from Frosinone, Lazio.
The club was founded in 1906 and played in the lower leagues. In 1990 the club just missed promotion to Serie C1 and was later disbanded due to financial problems. In 1991 the club was re-established and started in Serie D. After the 1993/94 season, the club is promoted to Serie C2 because places had become available. In 1996 the club became vice champion but could not promote. Three years later, Frosinone was relegated back to Serie D. In 2001, the club was promoted again because a place had become available. In 2003/04 the club became champions and promoted to Serie C1.
Promotion to Serie B was just missed in the first season, AC Mantova eliminated the club in the play-offs. In 2005/06 the club became vice champions and promoted to Serie B for the first time in the club's existence. Frosinone then secured promotion to Serie A for the first time on Saturday 16 May 2015. The club won that day 3-1 to FC Crotone. With one round to go she was therefore certain of second place in the Serie B and with that direct promotion.
Danilo Soddimo scored the first Serie A goal in Frosinone's club history on August 23, 2015, during the first round of the 2015/16 season. He put his team at home against Torino in the seventh minute at 1-0. Torino won the match 1-2. However, the club was unable to maintain itself. Frosinone finished 19th and penultimate in Serie A, and as a result was relegated to Serie B. In 2018, the club was promoted back to Serie A after play-offs. In 2019, the club was relegated back to Serie B after finishing 19th and penultimate in Serie A again.
