Peter Svarrer Ankersen (Esbjerg, September 22, 1990) is a Danish football player who usually plays as a right back. In September 2019 he exchanged FC Copenhagen for Genoa CFC. Ankersen made his debut in the Danish national football team in 2013. He is the twin brother of football player Jakob Ankersen.
Ankersen comes from the youth academy of Esbjerg fB, but after failing to break through, he moved to Vejle BK. He played at that club for two years and in March 2012 he was sold to Rosenborg BK. At the Norwegian club, the right back was a basic player, but he still chose to return to Esbjerg after six months, where he signed for four years. In 2013 Ankersen won the Danish Cup with his brother Jakob. In January 2014, the fullback was recruited by Red Bull Salzburg, as of July of that year. After a year and a half, he returned to Denmark temporarily, as FC Copenhagen took him over from the Austrian club on a rental basis. Ankersen played thirty league matches at Copenhagen on a rental basis. The club decided to take over him permanently for approximately one and a half million euros. He signed a contract until mid-2020.
