This shirt was worn by defender Niels Fleuren, Maldini van de Koel, in his last season in Venlo.
Niels Petrus Wilhelmus Fleuren (Boxmeer, November 1, 1986) is a Dutch paid football player who preferably plays as a left back. He started playing football at Vitesse '08 in Gennep. There he was scouted by VVV-Venlo, where he then went through the entire training and played in the first team for thirteen years.
Fleuren made his debut at the age of 16 in the main force of VVV-Venlo, as a substitute in a 4-0 win at home against Cambuur on October 3, 2003. He made his only league goal for the club on October 21, 2005, at home against HFC Haarlem. Fleuren was honored in a home match against De Graafschap on 13 September 2013 in connection with his 300th official match for VVV. He played his 300th league game against Sparta, on October 19, 2014. He played his 400th official game at MVV on April 8, 2016. VVV announced on May 27, 2016 that Fleuren was no longer eligible for a new commitment. In the summer of 2016 the left back switched to FC Emmen, where he signed a one-year contract. In the 2017/18 season, Fleuren joined FC Oss on an amateur basis, where he developed into a fixed value and was rewarded with a one-year professional contract at the end of the season. In January 2019, the routine renewed his contract in Oss for another year.
