Davide Astori(San Giovanni Bianco, January 7, 1987 – Udine, March 4, 2018) was an Italian footballer who usually played as a central defender. He played for AC Milan, Pergocrema, Cremonese, Cagliari, AS Roma and Fiorentina from 2006 to 2018. Astori played fourteen international matches for the Italian national football team from 2011 to 2017, scoring once.
After returning to Cagliari, the club re-loaned Astori in August 2015; now Fiorentina took him over for one season. The Florentine club also obliged to sign him permanently. After a season on loan in Florence, he would be acquired for three and a half million and he signed a contract until mid-2019. He played his first match for La Viola on August 23, 2015, when Fiorentina won 2–0 in their own stadium. was too strong for AC Milan. Astori started on the substitute bench, but coach Paulo Sousa brought him on as a substitute for Facundo Roncaglia in the fifty-ninth minute. For the rest of the second half he formed a central back duo with Nenad Tomović.
Astori was found dead in his hotel room in Udine on March 4, 2018. Fiorentina announced on March 6, 2018 - just like Cagliari - that in tribute to Astori, no one else with shirt number 13 would ever play for the club again.
