This very unique Matchworn football shirt was worn by Dutch International Collins John. This shirt has been identified as Matchworn because there are light signs of wear on the size labels on the inside. In addition, only the match shirts featured the back sponsor Huls, which was Kips on the fan shop editions. Unique of its kind, felt as sponsor, jersey number and name printing.
Collins John(Zwedru (Liberia), October 17, 1985) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a striker. He is the older brother of Paddy John and Ola John, who are also professional footballers.
He fled his homeland Liberia with his mother and brothers after his father died during the civil war in the West African country.
John started with the amateurs of VV DES from Nijverdal. There he stood out to the scouts of FC Twente, after which he was allowed to join the youth academy there. He made his professional debut on November 2, 2002 in the match against PSV. He played for Twente for less than two seasons before leaving for Fulham in England on January 31, 2004. In October 2007 he was loaned to Leicester City for three months. Later in the 2007/2008 season, John spent some time on loan for Watford FC. That was not a success due to an injury.
In August 2008, John was loaned to N.E.C. for a year. Because this was his last year of contact with Fulham, N.E.C. an option in the contract to extend his stay by two years after the 2008/09 season. He made his debut for the Nijmegen team on November 30. Despite two successful appearances in the UEFA Cup, John never managed to get fit and play into the team. In January 2009 he was on trial with Charlton Athletic but was not offered a contract.
On August 18, 2004, John made his debut for the Dutch national team under Marco van Basten, in the 2-2 draw against Sweden, just like Romeo Castelen (Feyenoord), Dave van den Bergh (FC Utrecht) and Jan Kromkamp (AZ). . On October 9 of the same year, he played his first match in the Dutch Juniors.
