Boluspor is a football club founded in 1965 from the forested Bolu in Turkey, where the Abant National Park is located. The club colors are red and white. The home base is the Bolu Atatürk Stadium.
Boluspor has played football in the Süper Lig several times (a total of 20 seasons), most recently in 1991-1992. The best performance was achieved in 1973-1974 when the club came third in Turkey. Furthermore, Boluspor was in the final of the Turkish Cup in the 1980-1981 season.
Boluspor was founded on December 28, 1965 from the merger of two clubs. These clubs were called Bolu Gençlik Birliği (from 1946) and Abantspor (from 1954). In the 1969-1970 season, the club became champions in the 2. Lig (now TFF 1. Lig), and thus promoted to the 1. Lig (now known as Süper Lig). This was the first time that Boluspor reached Turkey's top division. The club stayed there for nine years, and was eventually relegated back to 2. Lig in the 1978-1979 season. Immediately a year later, the club is promoted back to the Süper Lig. That season in 1980, the club also reached the final of the Turkish Cup. In the first match, Ankaragücü lost 2-1 and the second match was tied 0-0, so they were not allowed to take the cup to Bolu. In 1984-1985 the club relegated back to the 2nd division. The following season in 1985-86, the club was promoted back to the top division of the country. In 1992 the club relegated to 1. Lig again, and in 1996 the club also relegated from there to 2. Lig. Immediately a year later, the club is promoted back to 1. Lig. In 2001, the club relegated back to Turkey's third division. A year later in 2002, the club even relegated to the fourth division. In the 2004-2005 season, the club is promoted again to the third division. Since 2007, Boluspor plays in the TFF 1. Lig.
