A beautiful addition to my private collection

A beautiful addition to my private collection

Unknown caller: "Hi, Cobie, are you that boy who was in the Telegraaf?"
Me: "Uhh, Hi, yes that's me..."

Cobie: "Oh, well done! What a nice article and what a lot of shirts you have. I also saw some amounts passing by, that's not normal anymore!
We are also looking for some pocket money for our old age, hahaha..."

(Cobie has read the article in which the match shirts of the Dutch national team were auctioned to Asian highest bidders for thousands of euros)

Cobie: "I'm just calling you because we cleaned out the attic and might have found a nice shirt for you there."
Me: "Nice, always good, a gem from the attic room!"

Cobie: "Well look my husband, Co is now in his 80s but used to be a physiotherapist with the Dutch national team and played for FC Amsterdam himself. He was very good with Dennis Bergkamp and especially Ronald Koeman. Co was allowed to participate during the 1994 World Championship in America within the technical staff and now during that tournament after the first match against Saudi Arabia he received the match shirt worn by Ronald, can you do something with that???"
Me: “Ehhhh… Gulp…❤️❤️❤️… Yes!”

(After a short price negotiation, Cobie wanted to sell me the shirt, which I received today by mail)

This beautiful Lotto design is truly a pearl with a story and will remain in my own collection along with some other historical shirts. In addition to the fact that Ronald Koeman is the current national coach of the Dutch national team, Koeman has always been an example for me on the field in terms of play, appearance and insight.

I can still remember the Netherlands' match against the Saudis because I was 12 years old and this was my first real consciously experienced match. Secretly set the alarm for 1:00 am and watched the match in full.

During my business club activities at Feyenoord in the past, I had the opportunity to meet Koeman a number of times. Koeman is a legend!!
