AVC Heracles is a Dutch amateur football club from Almelo in Overijssel, founded in 1903. The club's first team plays in the Fourth Division on Saturday (2020/21).
AVC Heracles has been playing at its own sports complex on Verlengde Sportlaan (formerly Bornsestraat) in Almelo since 1913. It has two competition fields with natural grass and an artificial grass field.
For the 2019/20 season, the standard team switched from the Sunday to the Saturday division and started in the Fourth Division of the KNVB East district.
The Eredivisie club Heracles Almelo is a division of AVC Heracles. On July 1, 1974, the professional football organization continued under the name SC Heracles '74. Since July 1, 1998, the official name has been Heracles Almelo.
The monumental English-style stand is made entirely of wood and was built in 1924. When Heracles Almelo moved to the new Polman Stadium in 1999, the old stadium was demolished, including the English honorary stand. A foundation was set up that managed to preserve the grandstand. The grandstand was restored based on the original construction drawings. It was then moved to the grounds of AVC Heracles and reopened on April 8, 2000. Since 2011, the stand has been a national monument.
