AC Horsens is a Danish football club from Horsens. The club was founded in 1994 after a merger between Horsens Forenede Sportsklubber (founded in 1915) and FC Horsens.
Horsens fS co-founded the current Danish league in 1927, then still divided into different groups, the club finished in a group of four clubs shared first with Fremad Amager, despite a better goal difference it was Fremad that went to the final phase. The following season, the club finished behind BK Frem. In 1930 there was a uniform competition, there Horsens was sixth, then it went downhill and in 1932 a relegation followed.
Then it took until 1967 before the club could make a return to the highest division and they immediately became third. Two years later, the club finished fifth and in 1970 Horsens fs relegated again.
In 1994 the club merged with FC Horsens and became AC Horsens. The club was promoted to the highest division in 2005 and managed to avoid relegation there in the first season. In the 2008/2009 season, the club was relegated to the Danish First Division. In the 2009/2010 season, the club became champions with great force majeure under the leadership of trainer-coach Johnny Mølby, which meant that it was again active in the Danish Superligaen in the 2010/2011 football season. Relegation followed again in 2013. After three years, the club was able to promote again.
AC Horsens plays its home games in the CASA Arena Horsens.
March 30, 2021, Jens Berthel Askou was appointed as the new head coach. Under Berthel Askou, the team recorded a 2-1 victory on the first day of play against Aalborg, coached by mister_ard at the time.
